Cristianul Mare or Postavarul (“Mons Gymnicus” in documents) was named in German (“Schuler”) probably based on the fact that forest income went to the school (Schule) or, better said, to the students (Schüler) of the Brasov school (scola coronensis) founded by Johannes Honterus in 1543, students who went annually, especially in August, on a trip to Postavarul and “had fun with jokes and games”. Trips “in this form” ended in 1716. School administration of Honterus allowed only once a month trips to the mountains (exire ad montes).
The cabin can be found at the altitude of 1604 meters, on the northern side of the Postăvarul Massif ( Schuller (in German) | Keresztényhavasok (in Hungarian)) It was built as a shelter between 1881 and 1883 and was named Schulerhütte - Schuller Cabin. Since then, the cabin was constantly renewed and extended in size.
Today, the Julius Römer Cottage – Postavaru Cabin can accommodate up to 100 people. The views are spectacular, no matter the season, as you can see in the live webcam feed. In the winter, when ski season starts, you can see skiers and snowboarders sliding down the slopes of Lupului. Poiana Brasov is one of the most popular ski resorts in Romania!

The famous Bran Castle is one of the most recognizable landmarks from Romania and Transylvania all over the world.
The castle, which is a national monument, got really famous after Bram Stoker’s novel, Dracula. The depiction of Dracula’s Castle was based upon a description of Bran Castle, although the novelist never visited Transylvania. The associations with Vlad the Impaler, the voivode of Wallachia, are only purely fictional, mainly because the character of Dracula was inspired by the Wallachian ruler Vlad III Dracula or Vlad the Impaler.
Today, most historians agree that Vlad III Dracula never set foot in Bran Castle.
Bran Castle, situated 25 kilometres southwest of Brasov, in the village of Bran (Törzburg in German, Törcsvár in Hungarian), was a fortress on the Transylvanian side of the historical border with Wallachia.
The first wooden castle in the area was built in 1212 by the Teutonic Order, as a fortified position in Burzenland, based at the entrance of the mountain pass - an important commercial route. This castle was destroyed by the Mongols in 1242, just 30 years after it was built.
The stone castle, the one which is standing until this day, was first mentioned in an act issued by Louis I of Hungary, in 1377. This act gave the Saxons of Kronstadt the privilege to build their own stone castle at their own expense. That is when Bran, as a settlement, began to develop. The castle’s construction was completed in 1388.
In the present, Bran Castle operates as a museum and it is open for tourists and visitors from all over the world.

Târgu Secuiesc (Kézdivásárhely in Hungarian, Szekler Neumarkt in German) is a city in Covasna county. It is also mentioned as the "city of guilds" or the "city of courtyards" and it is the eastermost Hungarian-majority city in Transylvania. It was once the center of Kézdi Seat (Kézdiszék in Hungarian), part of Three Seats county (Háromszék in Hungarian) .
Three Seats county was an administrative county of the Kingdom of Hungary. The Háromszék region was a combination of three settlements (seats) of the Seclers in the area: Kézdiszék, Orbaiszék and Sepsiszék. Seclers had four more other seats - Marosszék, Udvarhelyszék, Csíkszék, Aranyosszék.
It was first mentioned as a settlement in 1407 and in the year of 1427 King Sigismund (Sigismund von Luxemburg) granted the settlement with a city title, a place for organizing markets.
The name in Hungarian native language means "Kézdi Market".
The square, which you can see live on our exclusive webcam, has a trapeze shape and it is actually the former marketplace, now surrounded by buildings from the 18th and 19th century. Today the name of the town's square is called Gábor Áron Town Square. Gábor Áron was an important local figure in the Hungarian Revolution of 1848.
The camera is set up a Vörös-ház, now a guesthouse and restaurant in the Gábor Áron town square. This guesthouse is a historical building, part of the local patrimony and cultural/architectural heritage.

The Union or Unirii Square (Piața Unirii | Kolozsvár Főtere) is Cluj-Napoca's representative landmark, the center of the city, the historical town square.
The square is renowned because it is one of the most beautiful and one of the largest squares in Transylvania & Romania. You can find the St. Michael's Church here, having the tallest church tower in Transylvania. St. Michael's Church is also the second largest church built in Gothic style in Transylvania, after the Black Church in Brasov.
Another famous feature of the square is the Matthias Corvinus Statue/Monument, a bronze sculpture paying homage to Matthias Corvinus, also called Matthias I. Matthias Corvinus was king of Hungary and Croatia between 1458 and 1490 and was born in Cluj-Napoca. This historic monument is the creation of János Fadrusz, who has made a small plaster model of the statue and sent it to the 1900 World Exhibition in Paris. He was awarded the Grand Prix (gold medal) of the expo, the highest award at the World Exhibition.
The square is surrounded by historical buildings and monuments, where once, only the most respectable and upper class families lived.
Today, it is a lively, colorful space with restaurants, cafes and it is a place used for different fairs, events, concerts. (Christmas Market, Transylvania International Film Festival)
